Preacher: Ian Hardcastle [Texts: 1 Kings 8: 1, 6, 10-11, 22-30, 41-43; Ephesians 6:10-20; John 6:56-69]
In these three portions of scripture we find a common theme of the importance of the presence of God. In the newly consecrated temple, the cloud of His presence appeared and Solomon prayed that God would answer the people's prayers and forgive them. In John 6, Jesus is stating that he is Bread which has come down from heaven - God is present - and the result is eternal life for those who believe. In Ephesians, Paul instructs us to put on the armour of God which can be seen as the very presence of God protecting us.
