First Online Service

Friends, we are in a new environment.  We need new ways of sustaining ourselves in spirit and mind.  I will be posting video services and information here for you.

A bit of light relief: Paul Huffam told us that he had been in the supermarket and seen a young man with a trolley loaded up with lavatory paper and hand sanitizer.  A woman approached him and told him in no uncertain terms how selfish he was to be panic buying.  When she finished he said, "Sorry, but I was just stocking the shelves!"

On Sunday 22/3/20, with the (then growing) restraint on gatherings, about half the normal congregation gathered.  They were poignant times in that we knew they were the last physical gatherings for a time.  There was special engagement.
  • I have posted the video of the 10am service, should you have missed it and wish to worship 'after us'.
  • The sermon by itself is available in both written and video form.
  • NB: In the video I said that we would keep the chapel open for private prayer.  Given the move to Level 4 that is not allowed so the chapel and church are locked.

Daily Litany Unite715

Here is a positive litany you may find helpful.  The authors Unite714 are basing it on the famous scripture 2 Chronicles 7:14  14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  They suggest praying at 7:14am and 7:15pm.  Why not light a candle and pray this at home, uniting with others from our congregations, this land and the world in prayer to our Father God.
Each week there will be an updated prayer resource.

Positive Mental Health

In my sermon on Sunday, I urged us not to be overwhelmed by anxiety and be careful what you feed into your mind.  Here is a resource sheet from the NZ Institute of Well Being and Resilience with good advice to help us not be overwhelmed by all that is happening and we have to navigate.
