Yesterday was ANZAC. Our service today includes a memorial for ANZAC with Don singing "Sons of Gallipoli".
Also:
  1. Printed Liturgy for today's service may be downloaded here.
  2. The Printed Sermon has been posted to the Sermons page - here.
  3. UNITE714 prayer sheet: The litany for the next week is posted below and may be downloaded here.
  4. New Home Groups: As the current lockdown continues even at Level 3, you may wish to join a new home group.  We think it would be good to start some new online homegroups.  If you are interested please let us know here.
  5. Online Prayer Meeting: On Wednesdays at 11am Anne Aspden leads an online prayer meeting.  She uses the Daily Services from the Prayer Book - so it is a formal morning prayer with space for personal prayers.  If you want to take part please register for an invitation.
  6. There is a "Dr Seuss" style e-book for kids (young and old) on the children's blog page.

Here is today's service - note it is a playlist of two videos.  When you finish the first video allow it to continue into the second, which is the National Anthem with which we conclude the service.

Alleluia.  He is risen!
This is not a communion service.  See the second video below for an explanation about taking "spiritual communion" when we cannot receive the sacrament.

Holy Week - Tenebrae (Shadows) Service

Jesus the Light of the World moved steadily into the darkness of arrest, trial and the cross.  The darkness gathered around him until he died.  In Tenebraie this is dramatically told with seven candles and a series of seven readings.  After each reading a candle is extinguished and two minutes silence is kept for contemplation.
It is a powerful service.

On Thursday, we invite you to conduct your own Christian Passover meal at home.
Passover has always been a family celebration at home.  It is about protection from a plague.  It is therefore particularly apt for us at a time when we are confined to our homes out of concern about an epidemic.

Read on for details and what you need to prepare and cook.
