Jambo Jam for Kondoa

Helen raises money for our Kondoa mission project by making jams, chutneys and marmalades which are for sale on the missions table in the foyer.  If you have fruit to spare contact Helen to see if she can use it to make some of her delicious preserves!

Legacy

19/4/2015

It's amazing how many thoughts pass through one's mind in the space of a few minutes.  Imagine how many when I have been awake 5 hours, Ian has been asleep (day off!) and I have had no conversation with anyone.

My mind has landed on the idea of legacy, which is a not-uncommon topic of my thoughts.  What will remain when I shuffle off this mortal coil?  Whom have I influenced for the good?  What will I have in my hands when I knock on the pearly gates?  Will it be allowed in with me?  {You notice that there is no idea that I might not be allowed in :-) }

Well, I bring from this morning's handiwork 16 jars of Feijoa Chutney, which sit glistening on the bench in the sunshine.  This time I have typed up a list of ingredients, so perhaps people will have more confidence to buy it than in the past.  This is a most unusual recipe which will appeal to the
lovers of lime marmalade amongst you.  Whole lemons and whole feijoas plus chilli flakes and spices make an interesting mix.

Was the time spent making it worthwhile?  Does it count for eternity?  I hope that the money raised by it will make a huge difference to the people in Tanzania.  It is a country worth investing in.
... Anyone need to go to the toilet?  When faced with this one, I thought I could wait...
