Mission Lunch for Tonga

Picture
Just a quick note to say thanks so much for your help and the help of your lovely children on Sunday (23 Jan 2022).

St Stephen's Parishioners had sent in about $1,800  for Tonga, and our Parish Manager believes about $1,000 of that was a direct result of the lunch we put on- possibly the most successful Missions Lunch we've ever had!
I'm so pleased we had the chance to do it, and it was so much fun cooking with the kids.  Please let them know what a great outcome it was, and again, thanks for making it such a great success!

Sending money rather than goods is the most useful way to help the people of Tonga at this time.  We will send all donations via Anglican Missions who already operate in Tonga.

Tonga is one of the poorest Pacific nations, yet in 2010, they raised T$833,867.00 (NZ $705,00.00) for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Fund in a single radio-thon. That’s the equivalent of every single Tongan giving T$8.33. It is our turn to return their kindness and generosity.
