This Sunday our youth provided the music for the service. The sermon was from Julie-anne Laird who has written "The RIpple Effect" training on sharing our faith. Today she introduces this with the passage from Colossians 4:2-6 and four (no five) points: Pray, Proclaim, Prioritise, Prepare (and Practise).

The youth received a certificate from World Vision for taking part in the 40 hour Challenge. Posiano & Selina were welcomed as new Youth Leaders. The theme of the sermon was "Wisdom from Above" weaving input from Proverbs and James with the extraordinary story behind the "Underground Forests" mentioned in the World Vision thank you letter. Here are the links tothat story and his TEDx talk.
Two special events today: Iris Bale had recently turned 100 and was able to be with us, where she received her card from the King and Queen (starts at 7:52). Toni Wentworth received her licence from the Bishop for her lay ministry in the parish (from 14:42).
The sermon addressed the review of our parish mission statement, offering an adjustment for consideration.
As we continue with "The Big Story of God" we look at Jesus life and ministry under the title of Abundant life and the examples of change in two people he met on the same day - a blind beggar and a social outcast. Both men were transformed and followed Jesus.
