Today, Ian referred to all three scriptures of the day - 1 Kings 8, Ephesians 6, and John 6—highlighting the importance of God's presence: in the temple, where Solomon prays for forgiveness; through Jesus, the Bread from heaven, who offers eternal life; and in the armor of God, which symbolises His protective presence.

Today Bishop Ross Bay joined us for worship. We held a combined service of 8am and 10am congregations. Our youth were involved with music as Chara played the organ for the opening hymn and Lucas played the keyboard for the offertory song. Bishop Ross preached on remembering Jesus is with us as we take the bread and the wine. Those young people who had gone on the sponsored ski trip made a yummy morning tea to thank the parish. It was a joyful time of celebration together.
This week, we explore Jesus' profound declaration, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35, 41-51). Just as bread is a staple that nourishes our bodies, Jesus offers essential nourishment for our souls. As we reflect on this, let’s consider how Jesus sustains us daily, providing the spiritual food we need to thrive.
Every first week of the month, we are exploring a series in Intergenerational services called "The Big Story of God." This week, we celebrated that our Rescuer, God is here with us now, shining as our light!
