Columbarium Memorial Wall:
The Parish has been working for some years on the concept of building a Memorial Wall that would be a permanent tribute to loved ones and a place to inter ashes, a place that ensures loved departed are not `lost' in the anonymity of big, impersonal, public cemeteries. The wall will be built in stages to meet present and future needs. It is a columbarium which is a structure that provides niches for containers for deceased people’s ashes.
The wall will be built alongside the west-facing wall of the Chapel. It will allow a bronze plaque to be mounted at the end of each niche. There will also be a limited number of spaces for plaques without niches. A Memorial Book providing for a tribute for each person whose ashes have been interred in, or a commemorative plaque placed, on the Memorial Wall will be available to peruse inside the Chapel.
