Vicar's Welcome
Hi, I'm Ian vicar of St Stephen's. You may be feeling new here – if so, you are really welcome. I started as vicar here over 9 years ago and have enjoyed getting to know people; I hope you find it easy and enjoyable too.
This is a time of celebration for the parish. We have completed the restoration of our original building after we built our new, bigger church and ministry centre. Now we celebrate 100 years of worship within it. The old building is attractive but small. The new building is ideally suited so we can welcome more people into the church and better serve the growing population on the peninsula who need a place to praise and worship God and for the use of the community. Our desire is to provide an environment where you can come to know people who love Jesus and in time follow his calling and grow to love him too. We trust you will find a warm welcome, good friendships and fun. We would aim to support you as you explore some of those bigger issues and questions of life. Have a look around the website, perhaps read a sermon or two and then if you are around Whangaparaoa at a service time (Sun 8am, 10am, plus Thurs 10am) why not drop in and see us? Please make yourself known to me or the greeters at the door. We’re glad you’re visiting. Best wishes, Ian Hardcastle |
Welcome to St Stephen's - onlineOur Vision: Growing in faith, love and mission.
Our Mission: To glorify God and fulfill God’s purposes by: bringing people to faith in Christ; deepening our discipleship; being equipped for ministry and mission in the name of Christ. Our Values: We are a welcoming Church family that gathers for vibrant and joyful worship, studying God’s word, prayer, and community life in which we experience support and a sense of belonging as we seek to live out our Christian faith in the power of the Holy Spirit. |
